Hale and Hearty is looking for an Account Executive in the Metro NY area to implement Hale and Hearty brand standards and strategies within the NY / North East market territory; building a specific business plan and implementing approved programming within each account; coordinating with the field and inside sales team. The ideal candidate will be centrally located within the territory able to seamlessly travel within the region with specific focus on Manhattan, Long Island, and the other boroughs. Reporting to the Sales Support Manager, the AE will be responsible for selling, merchandising, programming to maximize sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is a goal-oriented individual who can quickly establish relationships for a growth-oriented sales strategy.

Dedicated toward selling and maintaining accounts in territory, working closely with internal and external partners to identify and manage these accounts. Account segments will include the fresh deli areas of grocery stores, college and university, business and industry, restaurants, hotels, healthcare, convenience store, drug, travel, etc.

  • Open Stores: Work with Hale and Hearty IT System, Inside Sales and Outside sales team to identify, open and program accounts.
  • Build Strong Store Relationships: Establish and maintain close professional relationships with your retail store owners, managers, and staff.
  • In Store Execution: Achieve optimal in store merchandising space, full SKU-sets, POS placements and multiple points of distribution in accordance with Hale and Hearty Standards.
  • Complete Product Line: Ensure all Hale and Hearty SKUs are positioned in accounts.
  • Merchandise: Pull products from back stock and fully-fill cooler shelves and other display locations.
  • Merchandising Standards: Manage all accounts to be merchandised in accordance with Hale and Hearty Merchandising Standards.
  • Quality Product: Ensure Hale and Hearty Quality Standards are met with all products on shelf or in soup wells.
  • Fresh Product: Review code dates on all products when servicing every account. Pull or replace out of code product. Notify appropriate Distributor sales rep and Sales Support Manager.
  • POS: Ensure all equipment, racks, clings, posters and other point of sale are current, clean, and presented in a premium manner.
  • Equipment Service and Repair: Deliver, Install and / or remove company equipment as needed; diagnose and spot repair minor technical issues when possible
  • Planogram: Ensure all products are placed in compliance with shelf schematics in chain stores where there is a planogram, in addition to secondary sightings you may be able to achieve.
  • Ride Along: Join sales reps for ride-alongs to sell, merchandize, train, relationship manage with and audit their performance on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate Store Support: Work with BDM and Sales Support Team to schedule Demos, staff training, and other opportunities for activation.
  • Ongoing Store Management: Visit each account at least once every 4-6 weeks to relationship build, optimize merchandising execution, promotional programming and support. High priority stores will be visited more often.
  • Reporting: Produce and review weekly reporting using Hale and Hearty CRM System. Review market results and activity with manager (weekly) and Distributor (monthly and as required).
  • Account Performance: Distribution (Account #s, PODs) & Sales.
  • Account Activity: Demo Activity & Results, Promotional Activity & Results.
  • Weekly Visit Summary: Review of accounts visited (via Hale & Hearty CRM tool), goals and results.
  • Market Development: Work with BDM, Distributor Reps, and Inside Sales Team to identify new accounts; coordinate localized sales support aligned to marketing programming.
  • Distributor Management: Train and Manage DSD reps on Hale and Hearty Product, Brand and Merchandising Standards. Attend sales meetings (subject to regularity of meetings, every two-weeks should be a minimum goal) for brief update, relationship-building, to enthuse the sales team and hold DSD partner accountable to agreed programming.
  • Requirements

  • 2-6 years of related experience.
  • Restaurant experience
  • Bachelor s degree in sales, marketing or related field preferred.
  • Ability to travel frequently by auto/train.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and customer service.
  • Great problem solving skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Ability to travel and own a vehicle including a valid driver s license and safe driving record.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization as well as outside clients and consumers in any setting.
