Little Tong in Midtown East is looking for an experienced cook who can work FULL TIME in prep, on the line, and on track towards a management role.

Senior cooks can expect to earn a very competitive hourly wage, with opportunity for quick raises after the first 3 months of employment commensurate with experience and performance. - Have 1-3 years of full-service kitchen experience - Speak English and have good communication skills. Cooks must be able to communicate effectively with BOH and FOH teammates - Have an NYC Food Handler's License. Little Tong will sponsor those without a license to acquire one. - Be legally authorized to work in the United States - Be open to constructive criticism, is always ready to work, and prioritizes cleanliness and timeliness - Be interested in learning and growing with the organization - Have daytime and weekend availability - Be dependable. All cooks are expected to report to work promptly as scheduled. A good attitude and adherence to performance standards are critical - Be self-motivated. Given that we are a rapidly growing restaurant group, self-discipline is key, and desire for professional development and growth within the organization is valued - Be cooperative. All cooks are expected to work together with a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Team members who cannot or do not cooperate with one another will not be tolerated - Be flexible. All cooks must understand that regularly scheduled assignments and procedures may be subject to change with adequate notice, and must be flexible and willing to work with those changes
Experience in a high-traffic restaurant is preferred, but a can-do, positive attitude and eagerness to learn are key. Experience in Chinese cuisine is a plus.
