About Ssam Bar

Momofuku Ss m Bar opened in New York City s East Village in 2006 and serves a constantly changing menu that draws inspiration from flavors and techniques found worldwide, while staying true to its New York roots.

ThePolisher will work closely with the FOH team, handling all glass, silver, and plateware for service. The ideal polisher candidate will be efficient, yet careful while handling and cleaning flat and stemware. This role offers room for growth within the company, and an opportunity to observe high volume service with fine dining elements.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, wash, and polish glassware.
  • Run plate and silverware bus bins downstairs to the dishwasher.
  • Bring clean dishes and flatware upstairs to the service station.
  • Polish and restock stemware & flatware throughout service
  • Communicate effectively with all team members
  • Maintain presentable appearance

Skills & Requirements

  • Able to stand throughout the scheduled shift (6-8 hours)
  • Unintimidated by repetitive work
  • Maintains a positive attitude when presented with challenging tasks
  • Able to work quickly & precisely
  • Attention to detail and drive to improve
  • Culinary students encouraged to apply

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 5 to 10 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
