Fast Casual Restaurant Group in the East Village is currently searching for a Kitchen Manager to take ownership and operation of our kitchen staff. The successful candidate will have culinary and management experience. We re looking for a creative, motivating professional who can be assertive, delegate, plan ahead and have a strong sense of urgency. You will report to the Restaurant General Manager and have the opportunity to hire and train staff. The job requires approximately 50 hours per week with nights and weekends included.
Responsibilities: - Manage day to day kitchen operations and assisting GM - Ability to lead a team of prep, line cooks and dishwashers - Recruit, interview and train all kitchen staff - Conduct employee performance reviews, coaching and counseling - Cover employee schedule requests/callouts - Meet key financial objectives by controlling food and labor costs - Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly inventory - Responsible for ordering, receiving and approving of all products upon arrival - Ensure that all employees adhere to company safety practices, procedures and uniforms - Maintain safe food storage, preparation, and cooling techniques per Health Department guidelines
Requirements: - 3-5+ years of Kitchen Management experience in fast-paced restaurants - Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time - Ability to reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less - Ability to HAVE FUN!
