Job Summary

Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Human Resources Department, Research Corporation of the University of Hawai i (RCUH) core staff located in Honolulu, Hawai i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: $3,250/Mon.

DUTIES: Facilitates and processes all personnel, employee benefits, and payroll related transactions for efficient operations of the RCUH HR Information Systems. Responsible for quality controls of data entry accuracy and timeliness to ensure efficient operations of the RCUH HR Information Systems. Provides periodic assistance to systems and internal department s hardware/software support (i.e., systems backup routines, report generation, etc.). Responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the manual and computerized personnel record keeping and RCUH HR Information Systems. Translates information into acceptable and established data entry protocol, and inputs information into RCUH HR Information Systems. Performs pre-audit and post-audit reviews of all personnel records, statistics, files, and records. In addition, assists and provides clerical/administrative support that includes researching data, word processing, filing, logging, answering telephones, monitoring various personnel programs, etc. (Note: This is a progression series classification. employee will be assigned to increasingly responsible and complex assignment until full proficiency level is achieved.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING: Associate s Degree from an accredited community college in Information Technology, Office Technology, Business Administration, or related field. EXPERIENCE: This classification is used as an Entry and Progression classification. It will assume the employee to start at Level I (unless there is justified experience to begin at Level II). Progression will be based upon progressively responsible professional experience in personnel administration and/or demonstrated ability to perform functions of position. Level I: One to three (1-3) years of administrative support and office/clerical experience, which included pre/post audit of personnel, payroll, and employee benefits records/actions, data entry and word processing. At least two (2) years directly related to Human Resources Management System (HRMS) support, operations, and facilitation. (Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration along with other work experience may substitute for experience on a year-by-year basis). Progression depends on demonstration of competence. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Good working knowledge of hardware for back-up and start-up procedures, and report generation. Proficient in word processing programs (e.g., Microsoft Word), general skills in spreadsheet programs (e.g., MS Excel). Strong knowledge of office administration, filing, data processing systems, and office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, and fax). Ability to demonstrate accuracy and organizational skills. General knowledge of personnel administration principles. Strong data entry skills, high and accurate keystroke requirement for data entry. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check for working with highly confidential and sensitive information which includes being fingerprinted and having a federal background check performed. POLICY AND/OR REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS: As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies and procedures and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai i's and/or business entity's policies and procedures. Violation of RCUH's, UH's, or business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.).

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor s Degree from a four (4) year college or university in Business Administration or related field. Prior experience working in a Human Resources Office and PeopleSoft HRMS. Familiar with University of Hawai i, RCUH, or State of Hawai i Personnel Policies, regulations, procedures, practices, and laws.
